RAINFOREST MUSIC FESTIVAL, KUCHING 10-12 July 2009
The Rainforest World Music Festival is a unique festival that brings together on the same stage renowned world musicians from all continents and indigenous musicians from the interiors of the mythical island of Borneo.Its formula of afternoon informative workshops, ethno-musical lectures, jamming sessions and mini concerts, followed by evening performances on the main stage has proven to be a hit with the audience, who come from near and far.
The festival site also sets up a variety of food and drink stalls, an arts and crafts area as well as a counter for festival memorabilia, Sarawak souvenirs and CDs by the performing artists, all this contributing to a fun filled, wholesome festival experience. World Music plus a country fair atmosphere in the midst of lush greenery.

TANJUNG PUTING ORANGUTAN
From Pontianak you will be flew to Pangkalan Bun City to get Onboard, crossing the Kumai River approximately 15 minutes to Seikonyer River. Riding up about 2 hours to reach the National Park. Lunch will be served by our own cook. At 16.30, continue our tour to explore Proboscis monkeys. Dinner and overnight in Houseboating/Rimba Orangutan Ecolodge. Next Morning proceed upstream to Camp Leaky area, it will pass the black river. When arrive in camp Leaky, hiking up to see more wildlife such as Orangutans, Gibbons, wild pigs, birds etc. Back to the boat for lunch and at 14.00 will follow the feeding program. Feeders will carry banana and feed the orangutan on the feeding platform. At 16.00, back to the boat for dinner and overnight in the Houseboating/Rimba Orangutan Ecolodge.Next Morning After breakfast, boating down stream to get to the second station called Pondok Tanggui, where the babies and juveniles of the Orangutan get fed. It will be taking 2 hour to reach this Camp from Camp Leakey. Enjoying the situation till 10.00, continuing our tour to Tanjung Harapan village where we can see the Malayan settlement in the gate of National park. Lunch will be served en-route by our own cook on the boat. At 15.00 you will visit the First Camp Tanjung Harapan just cross the river from Tanjung Harapan Village to see the last orangutan feeding. You will enjoy the situation until 16.00. Back to the boat then boating down the river to the Nipah Palm area. Dinner and overnight on the boat. A TRIP TO SAHAPM VILLEGE LONG HOUSE
We start from Pontianak in the morning, it's took us 155 KM to Sahapm Villege. But as our planning we will visit NGABANG City as the capital of Kabupaten Landak To meet Mr. Kasimin. (Head of Tourism Promotion for Kab. landak). Mr. Kas (as we called Him) is a very nice person. He welcome us when we first met in his office. Yet we have lunch in Dangau Restourant, which is a fine resto with offering nusantara food. Finished lunch, we went to Sahapm villege by car for 52KM from NGABANG. arrived in Pahauman City, we turn left to a small road, and it's took us 12 Km to reach at LONG HOUSE. all the way we talk about several tourism potential in Kab. Landak. Arrived at Long House, first we found a very traditional stair to go up to the house and very small step. exciting. we welcomed by their Kepala Dusun. He welcome us to enter the house, wow.... so amazing, he told us that this long house had been built in 1875 and consist of 35 family (Door/house). it lenght about 180 meter which is stayed by etnics DAYAK KANAYATN. And we also met Mr. Albertus. He show as all his handmade statue collection. and told us the story of his creation... wow.. so impresses by his Dayak life story.
